Clean Up Australia Day

Mount Mee State School is at the top of the water catchment and whatever litter is left lying around by careless humans has the potential to wash down the mountain into our waterways. At Mount Mee State School we take our responsibilities as guardians of the catchment very seriously. As such Monday morning on the 6th of March saw the entire school out and about picking up litter from within our school grounds and beyond.
The Year 5/6 students picked up a small amount of rubbish from around the hall and the restaurant. We crossed the road and cleaned up the carpark. We mostly picked up plastics and glass. Our area was generally litter free but it must be remembered that little bits of rubbish can also cause big problems. Well done students. Your enthusiasm was impressive, as was your effort.
