Camps and excursions

Students in year 5 and 6 are invited each year to participate in a school camp. Our school alternates between two types of camp to ensure that every child has the opportunity to attend at least one camp in their final years of primary school. During odd years, our school attends the Runaway Bay Sports and Leadership Centre. This camp focuses on developing student leadership and teamwork. In even years, students have the ability to participate in a three day survival camp at Sandy Creek.

Each of our school excursions are directly linked to our curriculum and development of our students. Each of our classes attend at least one excursion per year. In addition to curriculum orientated excursions, students in year 4 to year 6 have the opportunity to participate in several sporting gala days and interschool academic competitions throughout the year.

Our school operates a swimming program in term four each year at the Woodford Public Pool. This program is conducted by qualified school staff and swimming instructors for all year levels and forms an important part of our health and physical education program. Students in the senior school have the opportunity every second year to work towards their bronze star.

As our school does not charge a school fee, we operate by a user pays system with all costs for camps and excursions to be paid up front. Due to many activities requiring confirmation of attendance numbers and payment prior to attendance, the ability to offer a refund for non-attendance is limited. Our school's Request for refund policy (PDF, 178 KB) contains all details for parents requiring a refund.
