Every time I welcome a guest into our school, they initially comment on the serenity of the school and the welcoming nature of our students. As they begin to walk through our school and talk to the students and the staff, they start to comment on the amazing things that are happening in our school and the achievements of our students.
Mount Mee State School is a small school with an average enrolment of 60 students from Preparatory to Year Six. This small number of enrolments enables our staff to develop strong relationships with our students and families and provides us with the opportunity to effectively cater for the needs of all our students.
At over 130 years of age, the school has a wonderful established feel about it with pristine gardens and a superb 3/4 hectare environmental learning area. While the school site is one of the oldest in Queensland, it is fully equipped with the latest technologies including Interactive Whiteboards in all teaching spaces, wireless connectivity across the school and a range of computers, laptops and iPads in use.
Our school is staffed by experienced teachers, aides, administration staff, groundsmen and cleaners who all contribute to the successful outcomes of our school. Under the guidance of our school staff, students have lead our school to many wonderful achievements including a Regional Showcase Award for Innovation, 1st Place in the Gold Coast Shortfilm Festival (followed by shortlisting in the top 10 for Fliker Fest and the Melbourne International Short Film Festival) and a range of other accolades for environmental education and artistic pieces of work.
I am very proud to be the Principal of Mount Mee State School and welcome you to experience the wonderful nature of our great little school that strives everyday to excel.
